China Creek1. China Creek1 flows to the north, emptying into the Pacific Ocean at the Muriel O. Ponsler Memorial State Wayside approximately two miles north of the town of Florence. Reference: U.S.G.S. quadrangle, 7.5’ series, Heceta Head, Oregon, 1984.

China Creek2. China Creek2 flows in a northwesterly direction before joining Martin Creek. It is located within the Bohemia Mining District, suggesting an early Chinese mining presence. China Creek Trail. China Creek Trail parallels China Creek2 while passing a number of mines. The trail is within the Bohemia Mining District. Reference: Gray 1978: 10; U.S.G.S. quadrangle, 7.5’ series, Fairview Peak, Oregon, 1980.

China Flats. China Flats was near Rose Hill on the bank of the Siuslaw River. A settlement was established there when seasonal Chinese cannery workers came into the Florence area to work. Reference: Powell 1990: 13.
